Freedom from pain without surgery or drugs
Developed after Dr. Ida P. Rolf in the 1950's, Rolfing Structural Integration is bodywork that reorganizes your whole connective system from head to toe using fascial mobilization and movement re-education. She knew a proper orientation to gravity would allow our body to heal itself. Fascial restrictions accumulate due to stress and injury creating pain and inhibiting movement. Your body regains integrity so you can move efficiently and get out of pain.
Bodywork is custom to each individual:
Every compensation pattern can benefit from Rolfing
That nagging pain or discomfort you’re trying to get rid of is most likely caused by imbalances throughout your entire structure, not just the symptom that hurts.
Rolfing allows your body to reorient to your center of gravity to allow all your movements to be more efficient.
A realigned body will have more energy! This also gives us freedom to DO more. Aged clients usually feel much younger.
Learn how to get yourself free from pain!
Rolfing addresses pain and accomodation of structural issues, not just symptoms. Long term relief from pain is expected. Symptoms disappear as the process builds you up throughout the series.
Rolfing relieves the body of soft tissue restrictions which may pull the bones out of place and create pain. It does not overstimulate the nervous system and there is no endless treatment plan.
Structure doesn't work without function and vice versa. How we orient to move is not addressed through exercise alone. Our body maps are updated and we have a clearer perception and experience of sensation.
My name is Mike Knapp, Founder of Freedom Rolfing™. I work with clients throughout Fort Bragg-Fayetteville & Sanford areas (and around the world on online) who are dealing with injuries and pain. I'm often the place folks go to when they've tried everything else with little success. My goal is get you moving pain free!
My curiosity with my own body began with a martial arts background. I realized movement in non-linear ways relieved my aches and pains. In 2004 I began my bodywork career with massage therapy. I chose to learn from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL because of their focus on anatomy and physiology. In 2016 my thirst for knowledge led me to the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute where I began learning Rolfing Structural Integration. This thrust both my martial arts and bodywork to the next level. Rolfing was the only thing that alleviated my own mid-back chronic pain.
I understand you have unique symptoms because nobody else has ever lived in your body.
